World memory market: contract prices for the second half of February

Perhaps the most significant event on the market over the past 24 hours
memory, was the announcement of contract prices for memory for the second half of February
– early March. As we expected,
the rise in prices turned out to be minimal:

On the spot market, this has not yet affected in any way, as well as there are no
reports of the beginning of an increase in demand for DRAM, so prices on most exchanges are not
have changed – the activity of traders is minimal. Unlike, by the way, from manufacturers
PCs whose demand for 256 and 512 MB Samsung modules has become more evident. Concerning
markers, then, apparently, the contract price update somewhat “raised” their price: 32Mx8 DDR266 / 333/400 SDRAM Hynix chips cost $ 4.09 / $ 4.13 / $ 4.45
respectively.

However, given the demand for memory from China mentioned in yesterday’s review,
it can be assumed that from next week the number of transactions on exchanges will increase
and the situation will start to change. In particular, this can be confirmed by
messages from the Singapore exchange, where orders from Chinese traders have raised the price
markers up to $ 4.09, $ 4.14 and $ 4.48 respectively.

As for the prices of memory modules. then it has remained on the spot for the last 24 hours
market unchanged.
