CeBIT 2021: ASUS booth, motherboards
Let’s continue our tour of the ASUS booth with a story about the company’s new motherboards. Due to major changes in the lines of chipsets from most of their manufacturers, the coming spring brings with it massive updates to the series of motherboards. However, let’s start with the still semi-exotic ATI Radeon IGP9100 chipset, on which, in conjunction with the IXP150 south bridge, ASUS presented two motherboards at the exhibition: the full-size P4R800-V Deluxe and the µATX version of the P4R800-VM.
A real exotic is the P5GD1 board based on the i915P (Grantsdale-P) chipset: support for new LGA775 processors with 800 MHz FSB, dual-channel DDR400 memory, integrated Gigabit LAN and High Definition Audio (ex. Azalia):
Variant P5GD2 – the same chipset, support for the same LGA775 processors, however, dual-channel DDR2-533 memory, SATA RAID, Gigabit LAN, IEEE1394, High Definition Audio:
Another interesting option is P5VD1, a motherboard based on the VIA PT890 + VT8237 chipset bundle, supporting LGA775 CPU, dual-channel DDR400 memory, SATA RAID, gigabit LAN, 8-channel audio:
As usual in recent years at the ASUS stands, there were some overclocking “tricks”: a system based on the ASUS P4C800 motherboard, two 256 MB Kingston memory modules, an ASUS V9520 video card and a 3.2 GHz Pentium 4 processor was demonstrated, which we managed to overclock up to 5 GHz!
And one more – a working motherboard for processors that are not yet available in retail – Socket 939 Athlon 64. For this platform ASUS has introduced the A8V Deluxe mainboard based on the VIA K8T800 Pro + VT8237 chipset bundle.
