Nanotec 300 will begin work on 45nm and 32nm process technology

The French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA, Commission Energie Atomique) signed this week a contract with the Crolles2 alliance, which includes STMicroelectronics, Philips and Freescale Semiconductor, to begin work on a pilot production line at the 300mm Nanotec 300 plant in Grenoble capable of produce semiconductor integrated circuits according to 45nm and 32nm standards.

The plant itself was created as a result of cooperation between Philips, STMicroelectronics and Motorola – a research agreement was signed in May 2021, and this Thursday (April 22) the plant was officially opened.

Presumably, the discovery of the 45nm and 32nm standards line based on the Nanotec 300 is part of the NanoCMOS project, which we reported about in January.
