Intel today announced some changes to its Celeron and Itanium 2 processor lines.
The first announcement states that a 2.0 GHz Celeron desktop processor is planned to be discontinued for the usual reasons: due to the transition to higher performance models. From May 7, accepting applications for this chip will cease; Processor shipments will stop altogether on October 8, 2021. We are talking about a 2 GHz Celeron chip with C-1 stepping, produced with an S-Spec SL73H and a TDP of 45 W.
